Edison Avenue Art Lofts is a mixed-use historic rehabilitation of 37 units that will offer affordable, urban living spaces with the added amenities of an art gallery and studios within the building. The development builds on significant efforts by the City of Granite City to spur economic development in the historic downtown, foster growth among an active community of local arts, and rebrand the City as the “intersection of art and industry.” Located in a highly walkable section of downtown Granite City, the development is adjacent to several points of local pride: a park that is the site of a weekly Saturday market, a recently developed community cinema, a community theater, a historic library, and the Madison County Transit Center, a bus hub connecting to the broader region.
Featuring 1- and 2-bedroom apartments of varying sizes the building will be fully accessible with several ADA units and an accessible route to the majority of units as well as Universal Design features. The building is being rehabilitated according to National Green Building Standards.
